Turtle Bay Brindleyplace is the canalside sibling of Birmingham’s much-loved Caribbean restaurant and bar, with the same beach-inspired room, Caribbean rhythms and central rum bar at one of the city’s liveliest waterside spots.
What to order
The star is the jerk pit: 24-hour marinated, flame-grilled. Order Jerk Chicken or Curry Goat with rice and peas, or Brown Stew Fish, with a jerk gravy of thyme, allspice and scotch bonnet. Add a rum cocktail or a Red Stripe.

The space
Inside it’s all island colour: tropical prints, relaxed seating and a bar stacked with rum bottles doing most of the decorating. Wide windows open the room onto the square, and in warmer months the buzz drifts outdoors, with the water of Birmingham’s canal quarter just beyond.
